I highly recommend folklore for children as one of the ways how to enrich their development. It connects music and poetry, movement and game, and fine arts, too. It also contains the most beautiful human characteristics and knowledge verified by generations. Today it brings us not only advice and beauty but also moral force. Upbringing by means of folklore comes with the most natural and comprehensible method “from foot to foot, from mouth to mouth, from hand to hand”. This knowledge gives us the base for development of any kind of art, not only folklore. Thanks to folklore we will address children directly by “Children for children”, where tranquillity of their lives will be enhanced.

I. Performance “Children for children”
for nursery and elementary schools
Based on my pedagogical-creative experience (see “Biography”) I decided to choose and process Slovak children folklore material in an interesting and unique way to create a compact children performance designed for children through “Children for children”. In the offered performance, you will be able to see the young talented children artists from Children’s folklore ensemble Čunovský kŕdeľ who will perform their spoken word, singing and dancing skills in traditional costumes under my supervision. This idea should lead to the traditional cultural values and support the desire for knowledge.

The aim of “Children for children” performance

* You will find out more about the traditional crafts, singing and dancing games and dances connected to various events and holidays during the year like carnivals, welcoming Spring, Christmas, New Year, etc. Children sometimes also learn dances performed by the adults.

III. THE SCHOOL OF DANCING AND SINGING in a live performance “Singing and Dancing” for nursery and elementary schools
The project “Children for children” consists of the young smart performers from Children’s folklore ensemble Čunovský kŕdeľ under the artistic supervision of Mária Straková. By means of the folklore theatre (mainly spoken word, folk songs, proverbs and sayings) they create a story. They will work with you in a traditional way: “from foot to foot, from mouth to mouth, from hand to hand”. The young spectators will become a part of the performance and they will create “School of dancing and singing”. There they will learn various dancing moves, folk songs and in the end of the performance they will be able to perform a dancing-singing choreography with us.
